The Museo Civico Castello Ursino is the first civic museum in the city of Catania. It was founded in 1934 under the direction of the archaeologist Guido Libertini. It collects and preserves a patrimony of considerable prestige thanks to the predisposition to culture and collecting of prominent figures of the past centuries: the 18th century Prince Biscari and the Benedictine monks, the Zappalà Asmundo family, the Catanese jurist Gian Battista Finocchiaro, Francesco Rapisardi, and other illustrious men, who have increased the museum’s patrimony.
The Museum of Representation is a university museum belonging to the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Catania. The MuRa is located in the prestigious Villa Zingali Tetto. The Perm University History Museum founded in 1973 is located in Perm State University. Its collection is represented by Greek and Egyptian bronze, glass, ivory and ceramic items, decorative art of Russia, Asian and European countries.
